Development of a perfusion device for the emergency return of human blood circulation

In modern world of emergency medicine, special attention is paid to scientific research on the creation of innovative devices aimed at rescuing victims of emergency situations (accidents, dangerous natural phenomena, catastrophes, natural and other disasters, wars) and of other incidents.

Today, the development of extracorporeal life support devices has received the greatest development in world medicine.

In most cases, these devices are used when transporting injured people to the place of professional medical care.

There is no production of such systems in Russia.

At present, the implementation of such events on the territory of Russia is fraught with great difficulties, including technical ones. The fulfillment of the task set is complicated by the fact that extracorporeal life-support devices are not produced in our country, and the number of these imported devices (especially, transport ones) in Russia is extremely limited. The cost of consumable materials for extracorporeal therapy is quite high, and their use is not covered by health insurance programs

The development of such an innovative device will significantly expand the range of rescue measures in Russia, performed in order to save lives of military personnel, as well as victims of emergency situations.

Project goals:

 

Creation of a mobile perfusion device for the emergency return of human blood circulation, based on new technological principles, to provide emergency medical care to people (patients) with cardiac insufficiency, with refractory respiratory distress or cardiogenic shock, as well as victims of emergency situations (accidents, dangerous natural phenomena, catastrophes, natural and other disasters, wars) and of other incidents, in cases of disturbance of their circulatory system.

Development and manufacture of a prototype of a Russian oxygenator, based on new technological principles, the cost of which is several times lower than the cost of imported membrane oxygenators (not manufactured in Russia).

 

The oxygenator model is shown in Figure 2

 

The main technical parameters of the oxygenator: saturation of blood with oxygen O2 from 200 to 430 ml/min., removal of carbon dioxide CO2 from blood from 150 to 280 ml/min., blood filling volume 270 ml., blood flow velocity 2.50-6.0 l/min.

Expected scientific and technical results

  1. Development and manufacture of a mobile perfusion device for the emergency return of human blood circulation, based on new technological principles, to provide emergency medical care to people (patients) with cardiac insufficiency, with refractory respiratory distress or cardiogenic shock, as well as victims of emergency situations (accidents, dangerous natural phenomena, catastrophes, natural and other disasters, wars) and of other incidents, in cases of disturbance of their circulatory system.
  2. Development and manufacture of a prototype of a Russian oxygenator, based on new technological principles, the cost of which is several times lower than the cost of imported membrane oxygenators (not produced in Russia), opens up new opportunities for the development of Russian production and economy. The proposed oxygenator can be used in liquid breathing systems, in heart-lung machines, in rescue systems used to rescue victims of emergency situations (wars, catastrophes, natural disasters, etc.)
  3. Implementation of the project contributes to obtaining new scientific research, concepts in the field of cardiology.
  4. The perfusion device in the form of a finished medical device will be used in military hospitals, as well as for saving the lives of injured military personnel, as well as victims of severe injuries due to emergencies (natural disasters, catastrophes, wars, etc.)
  5. It is planned to equip military medical centers, ambulances, resuscitation centers, rescue service institutions with cases with a perfusion device for the emergency return of human blood circulation.
  6. Development of an innovative Device will significantly expand the range of rescue measures in Russia, performed in order to save lives of military personnel, as well as victims of emergency situations.
